Rapier has been developed for metal cutting operations such as tapping, drilling, reaming, thread cutting and die thread cutting. Rapier is especially suitable for aluminium, stainless steel, and any hard materials, achieving better finishes and prolonged tool life.
Rapier is a high pressure lubricating oil which cools both cutting tools and metal surfaces. Rapier operates by the instantaneous formation of micro layers of metallic chlorides and sulphides, activated by the highly localised heat generated during the drilling process. These compounds help to lubricate as the drilling proceeds, also adding an anti-corrosion layer to the bare metal.
